About This Project

Bainridge Construction Company is spearheading the critical initiative to de-silt the Sondu Hydro Dam, employing state-of-the-art techniques and a meticulous approach to restore its efficiency and sustainability. With a deep understanding of hydrological systems and environmental dynamics, our team is implementing innovative sediment removal methods to optimize the dam’s capacity and performance. By clearing accumulated silt, debris & removal of floating vegetation we are not only revitalizing the dam’s functionality but also mitigating potential risks of flooding and ensuring the continued supply of clean, renewable energy to the region. This project underscores our unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship and the advancement of sustainable infrastructure solutions.

Phase I 

Desilting and removal of Hippo grass at Sondu power dam (KENGEN) It involved desilting of 397,217 cubic meters of silt, uprooting and removal of Hippo grass (Floating vegetations) from dam 150,000 square meters

Phase II 

Desilting and removal of Hippo grass at Sondu power dam (KENGEN) It involved desilting of 330,000 cubic meters of silt, uprooting and removal of Hippo grass (Floating vegetations) from the dam 70,000 square meters. And construction of 4 watering points to serve the community around the dam.
